If you want organizational equity, workplace democracy, and right power relations, this clinic is for you.

Increasing equity isn’t an abstract question about hierarchy (horizontal/flat, vertical, decentralized, consensus, etc.). Instead of getting bogged down in a false binary, we’ll get concrete about how power in your team is—and isn’t—shared, then learn to make your decision-making process more explicit and equitable.

Decision-making is where the rubber meets the road for equity and democracy. Here’s what you can expect:

  • We’ll practice clarifying roles like: Who decides? Who helps? Who do they consult first? Who do they inform after?

  • In this session, you’ll learn tools and apply them to your own team. We’ll get creative about your decision-making process, with a goal of good-enough-to-try and then iterate from, rather than waiting for a perfection that doesn’t exist.

  • After this session, you’ll be ready to slice through the hierarchy debate and move your team toward shared goals of increasing equity.

Whether you're in a position of power where you can change your organization’s decision-making or you’re organizing with co-workers to have greater influence, this clinic will give you a framework and tools to get explicit about how power works in your organization and to propose concrete changes toward greater equity.
